Terms of use

SAGOMEEN lets you read and post reviews of a city’s establishments and services, suggest places, report everyday problems and, for establishments, manage their listing and reply to reviews.

Simply browsing the website constitutes acceptance of these Terms. Creating an account requires accepting them explicitly: by ticking the box provided when signing up by email, or by continuing past the notice that recalls them when signing up with Google or Facebook.

• “Platform”: the website sagomeen.com, its applications and services.
• “User”: anyone who visits the platform, with or without an account.
• “Contributor”: a user with an account who publishes content.
• “Content”: a review, rating, feeling, photo, reply, place suggestion or report published on the platform.
• “Establishment”: a place, shop, or public or private service presented by a listing.
• “Business account”: an account linked to an establishment after its claim has been verified.

The platform is free for all users, individuals and establishments alike. Internet connection costs, including the cost of mobile data, are borne by the user.

SAGOMEEN strives to keep the platform available at all times but cannot guarantee it: interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates or incidents. No compensation is owed on this account.

Posting content requires an account. To create one, you must be at least 15 years old; minors must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

By creating an account, you agree to:

• provide a valid email address and confirm it;
• create only one personal account — multiple accounts intended to influence a rating are prohibited;
• choose a username that does not impersonate anyone and is neither offensive nor misleading;
• keep your password confidential and inform us without delay of any fraudulent use.

You are responsible for actions taken from your account. Enabling two-factor authentication from your profile is strongly recommended.

A review describes a real experience, lived personally, at the establishment concerned. By posting a review, you guarantee that:

• you visited the establishment or used the service on the date stated;
• you have no connection with it — neither owner, employee, relative nor competitor;
• you received no payment, discount, gift or other benefit in exchange for your review;
• your photos were taken by you and no person can be recognised in them without their consent; photos of minors are prohibited.

Critical reviews are legitimate: they must remain factual, measured and about the service provided, not about people.

The following are prohibited and removed as soon as they are detected:

• fake reviews, and reviews that are commissioned, traded or automatically generated;
• defamatory, insulting, threatening or harassing statements;
• any statement inciting hatred or discrimination on the grounds of origin, ethnicity, region, religion, sex, disability or opinion;
• information that identifies a person: an employee’s full name, a personal phone number, an address, a photo of a recognisable person;
• content that is unlawful, contrary to public order, or infringes the rights of others, including image rights and copyright;
• advertising, spam, commercial links and political propaganda;
• organised campaigns to disparage or promote an establishment.

Content is published without prior review and moderated afterwards: through user reports, automatic detection of suspicious behaviour and the moderation team.

SAGOMEEN never edits the text of a review. Content that breaches these Terms or the trust charter may be hidden; its author is informed by a notification stating the reason, and may contest the decision by writing to signalement@sagomeen.com. Every moderation decision is logged.

An establishment’s rating is calculated from published reviews, criterion by criterion. Rankings take into account the rating, the number of reviews and how recent they are. The trust index shown on each listing measures how reliable these figures are: number and diversity of contributors, share of verified accounts, detection of suspicious reviews.

No payment, partnership or commercial relationship influences the display order, ratings or trust index. The criteria are detailed on the “Fighting fake reviews” page.

The manager of an establishment may claim its listing from the business area. Once their connection with the establishment has been verified, they can complete the listing’s information, add photos and reply publicly to reviews.

A business account never allows a review to be edited or deleted. The establishment may, however, report a review that breaches these Terms; it is handled like any other report. It is prohibited to offer a benefit in exchange for a review, to solicit only satisfied customers in return for payment, or to post reviews about one’s own establishment or a competitor.

Practical information on a listing (opening hours, phone, address) may be suggested by users; an establishment that has claimed its listing is invited to keep it up to date.

Suggested places are checked before going online. Citizen reports (roads, cleanliness, lighting…) must describe a real problem without naming any individual; their location is optional.

SAGOMEEN is not an emergency service. In case of immediate danger, contact the emergency services of your country.

You remain the owner of the rights to your content. By publishing it, you grant [À compléter : raison sociale ou nom de l’exploitant], free of charge and for the full duration of those rights, a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, reproduce, display, format and translate it for the needs of the platform, and to include it, in aggregated and anonymised form, in SAGOMEEN’s statistics and open data.

This licence does not allow your content to be sold to third parties or used for advertising.

When you delete your account, your personal data is erased and your reviews are kept in anonymous form, so that establishments’ ratings remain fair.

The platform, its name, logo, texts, indicators and code are the property of [À compléter : raison sociale ou nom de l’exploitant]. Systematic extraction of the platform’s content or data, by a robot or by any other means, is prohibited outside the open data published for that purpose.

Each contributor is solely responsible for the content they publish and the consequences of publishing it. They indemnify SAGOMEEN against any third-party claim based on content they published in breach of these Terms.

SAGOMEEN takes reasonable steps to keep the platform reliable, but guarantees neither the accuracy of reviews, which reflect their authors’ experience, nor that of the practical information in listings. Links to external websites are provided for information; SAGOMEEN does not control their content.

In the event of a breach of these Terms, SAGOMEEN may, depending on the seriousness and repetition of the facts: hide the content concerned, withdraw a verification badge, temporarily suspend the account or close it permanently. Sanctions are proportionate and reasoned, and may be contested through the procedure described under “Moderation”.

In the case of manifestly unlawful content, SAGOMEEN may also retain the necessary information and provide it to judicial authorities that lawfully request it.

The data collected, how it is used, how long it is kept and your rights are described in the privacy policy. You can export your data or delete your account at any time from your profile page.

You can delete your account at any time, without giving a reason, from your profile page. Deletion is permanent; your reviews are then anonymised, as explained under “Rights over your content”.

These Terms may change, in particular to keep up with the platform or the law. Any significant change is announced on the website and by email to account holders at least fifteen days before it takes effect. If you do not accept the new terms, you can delete your account; otherwise, continued use constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are offered in several languages. In the event of any discrepancy between versions, the French version prevails.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Guinea.

In the event of a dispute, please first write to us at contact@sagomeen.com: we undertake to seek an amicable solution within thirty days. Failing agreement, the dispute will be brought before the competent courts of Conakry, subject to the protective provisions you enjoy in your country of residence.
